Small-town radio listeners across the country have heard that intro more times than I can count. Bringing great relief to an area roughly the size of Belgium, I have since moved back to the city. 

I’m currently based in Ottawa pursuing a Master of Journalism at Carleton University. This is not to be confused with when I was based in Ottawa pursuing a Bachelor of Journalism at Carleton University.

Since graduating (with distinction!) in 2020, most of my journalism work has involved covering rural Ontario for Vista Radio.

Aside from the usual mountain of felony, fire, and fundraiser stories, some highlights include: the years-long saga of a single public washroom, a century-old turtle gone missing, and fringe candidate duty for elections at all three levels of government. Somewhere in there, they started trusting me to write national news.

My favourite stories involve science, technology, and the environment—particularly species and habitats at risk—as well as man-made horrors beyond my comprehension (near-future technology). Some of those stories have been featured on the CBC.

When I’m not behind a microphone, you can find me in the kitchen, out on a trail or waterway, tinkering at my desk, or absorbing as much fiction as my brain can handle. A proud fourth-culture child (mutt), I split my time between Ottawa, Toronto, and any country willing to let me in on a tourist visa.
